my friend has hair like that and it is really prettyI have black hair i want highlights but dont want to damage it what should i do?
get red highlights but go to a place tha knows how to give you red with bleaching it. get your hair treated at the salon also.
well, there's no escaping a little damage. i would advise laying off the straightener, curling iron, blowdryer...etc. for a few weeks after getting highlights. and get a new shampoo for moisturization. and your hair should be 'happy'!
any hair coloring is gonna damage your hair no matter what. the dyes that salons use are better for your hair than store-bought dyes though. also, after you get it done, use a deep conditioner like garnier fructis or neutrogena once or twice a week.

No matter what it's going to be damaged by highlights. Do a conditioning treatment at the salon after you get them. Try a darker tone of highlights, like caramel, it's not such a durastic difference in colors and isn't such a strong and damaging bleach.
get frequent conditioning treatments done, they r cheap
Any coloring of the hair causes some damage, it's unavoidable. The best way to cause the least amount of damage is to go to a salon - never use dye out of a box.

A stylist can use certain dyes on you, and recommend the best color for you to prevent damage but still look good.
