Do Highlights Damage Your Hair?

I was just wondering how much highlights / if highlights damage your hair? I was thinking of having quite a few blonde ones, if that helps.Do Highlights Damage Your Hair?
i used to have a whole head done of blonde highlights and had to use the expensive hair treatments from the hairdresser to condition my hair. if you are only having a few done then this should not affect the condition of your hair. Ask your hairdresser about any affects the products they use to make their blonde colour will do to your hair as this may depend on whether you have thin weak hair or thick hair. you may have to use a deep moisturising conditioner once a week or on the days you straighten your hair.Do Highlights Damage Your Hair?
All hair coloring products have strong chemicals which do dry and damage the hair.
Everytime you dye your hair you cause damage. But significant damage is caused when you do it too frequently
they do damage your hair but if you've never got highlights it shouldnt be too bad and if you just get a few your hair should stay healthy. use a lot of conditioner
All chemicals do.
blonde and black damages your hair the most of all colors but not if you dont get them done all the time then you should be fine!

yes to great extent...pls. dont do it unless you are desperate for a change.
Well they dye the hair. They drain the nayural color from your hair and coat it with whatever one you use. You should try to find a rainbow shag layer that has the basis of one color and many rainbow highlights. If you can find the colors and someone to do this it would not look like a head of colors, actually they have appropriate places where each color should sit whereas it would have the best appeal to the style.

Try it.
Dying your hair in general is harmful to your hair. It makes the texture more coarse and your natural color is never as vibrant. Highlights wouldn't be as bad as dying your whole head. But yes hair dye can damage hair.

Best of Luck!

yes
YES IT DOES DAMAGE YOUR HAIR,full stop
bleach tends to do that.

depends on how blond u want it to be. but one way or the other ur hair will be damaged.
not if you do it rite,

the best thing to do is to go to a hairdresser, but if you want to do it your self look for a good 'conditioning' one. If you don't do it to often it'll be fine and make sure after every wash you give it a cold rinse! Its realli good for your hair and will keep your highlites looking wicked!!

xxxxxxxxx hope it helped xxxxxxxxxxxxxx
i dont think not unless youve benn dying your hair all your life
Doesn't it depend on the type of hair you have or if it is done professionally or not?
well, i have never had highlights, but i have tried them on my pet goose. she loves them very much and lookes very stylish! and no, it did not damge her feathers
I have dark brown hair with blonde highlights (for like half a year now) but it hasn't really damaged my hair yet. They say that your hair goes grey faster if you use hair dye all the time though o____O
a full hair dye damamges your hair, plus because you are getting your hair highlighted its bleach and other chemicals that will effect your hair it normaly ends up dry but you can get conditioners for that, otherwise not really, just go for it
