Im African American and have dark brown hair and i want to get highlights or lowlights/what's the best color?

By African American, I'll assume you mean you're black. If you are, then your hair is very delicate to colour and therefore be extremely cautious on your timing. As for what colour would best suit you...stay in the warm tones. Anything red, copper, caramel...and so on. If you go off warm, it'll look too fake, but if that's what you want...something to stick out, then try add-ons. They're inexpensive, removeable and reusable. You can mix and match too. Anyways, if you colour, condition well. Have fun!Im African American and have dark brown hair and i want to get highlights or lowlights/what's the best color?
I have a native american daughter that has the same texture as african americans and with the same dark hair color. My suggestion is to go to a beautician that specializes in African American hair (maybe a school is close by) and as far as the highlight get a blond or a light color.Im African American and have dark brown hair and i want to get highlights or lowlights/what's the best color?
Hi i have med/dark hair and i got copper and light brown foils. it looks great and with your curls they will blend together very well.
put red. it would look really good
Blonde streaks:)
light brown would be good because it looks relaxed and its not to funky but just right and excellent
You can try a color called Brown Sugar or some thing close to it. It is made by Dark and Lovely. I have dark brown hair and I used it and it showed really well. You can always go for a dark red or burgundy, it will look really nice too. Hope this helps
UMMM DEPENDS ON WHAT COLOR HIGHLIGHTS U WANT???
light brown or dark dirty blonde
PINK!!!
Go to your hairdresser and tell him/her what kind of look you're going for...natural or dramatic. Depends what kind of work you do, and your personality. Personally, I think the more realistically natural it looks, the better.
get some caramel highlights ,, great look for the summer . since African American hair is hard to lift make sure you get a professional stylist to do it ... . get the highlights to frame your face and have the majority on them on the top of your hair ( thus the word high - lights )
The SLIGHTEST TRACE of copper sparkle is enough!
I can't tell by the picture, but anyway your highlight color will be determined by how long you leave the dye in so if want ';low lights'; don't leave the dye in long
go with light brown or red
Well....it is nothing 2 do with ur skin color but only with ur hair color.Since ur hair is dark brown , it is better u lowlights ur hair bez the color is contrast wth ur hair color %26amp; looks great.

If u highlights ur hair , u cannot see the different bez ur original hair color %26amp; hightlight color will look similiar.

Go for lowlights ( any light colors)...its value for ur hair %26amp; money.
light blonde or dirty blonde or light brown depends on your skin color
get shrinks of a # 30....also known as blonde
Light brown, just don't die it too light because it will look orange and very odd.
You should go to your designer with a few pictures or fond a few in the salon books then set an appointment for a consultation there usually free and have the designer get some color swatches and place then to you hair and face to best find the color that will compliment your look and skin tone! that is important and go from there it also depends on the look do you want to be bold or modest!

From a designer myself good luck!
Lowlights are best. High lights are often blonde and may not compliment your skin tone if you are dark. Low lights will be a blend of clors that are close to your own--such as a caramel, dark blone, light brown.

Your stylist will be able to help you choose the right colors. Usually it's about two to three colors (at least it was for me).
carmel
Personally speaking I think that light brown or golden brown highlights look very good on african american girls because it brings out the color of your skin. Its really cute so try that.
copper brown... it looks good on dark skinned women
FROM ONE TO THE OTHER. DONT COLOR YOUR HAIR. IT LOOKS TO FAKE ON BLACK GIRLS. YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL ALL BLACK.
Try a red tint, I bet that would look super cute!
You should get light brown low light they look much more natural that highlights and lite brown would go great with your dark hair.
light brown if no funky rainbow if funky
I am african american, I have dark brown hair. I have bronze highlights with a racy wine rinse on top of it... I have gotten so many compliments. Blonde highlights may break your hair, you need to tone it down
like low lights get it like a red at the bottom that would look like........... awsome!!!!!!!!!!
Golden blond if you're light skinned, burgundy red if you're in the middle, and brown sugar if you're dark skinned.
