I'm getting highlights, and I have dark brown hair. Help?

I have dark dark brown hair, it's almost black.


And I'm planning on getting highlights.. but I'm not sure what color to ask for.


I will absolutley NOT have blond, it looks tacky.


But anyone have any idea of what color will go well with my hair?I'm getting highlights, and I have dark brown hair. Help?
I would ask the stylist for a dark caramel but see if she has color swatches for you to look at first or find a picture in a magazine of some gorgeous highlights that you like and show her. Lord knows you can be thinking one thing and they're thinking something totally different...I'm getting highlights, and I have dark brown hair. Help?

Dark red or you could do a really dark blond


ask the hairdresser, they should have color swatches you could hold up next to your true color and judge.
chocalate browns ...lighter browns basically..a tip:although chesnut browns cute it can sometimes look reddish so be careful with that colour...and getting too many highlightes will give you a whole colour change
Try shades of red, Something dark.

Red would be great. you could also use green, but.. idon't think you would, would you? :-D
