It might look pretty to go maybe three shades lighter with your hilights- this will lighten you up and give some pretty dimension... but if you do straight up blonde hilights, those strands might turn orange-ish (since you are starting out so dark). Also, such durastic colored hilights could give you a skunky streaky look. I think as long as you are not seriously pale it would look fine. Just be sure if you want to get the best results (from a take home highlighting kit) use a cap with holes in it and knit strands through and you'll end up with beautiful blonde highlights...I did it....I have really dark brown hair with blue eyes Im thinking of getting highlights Would blonde highlights be odd?
Yes blonde would look a little odd in dark brown hair, try caramel highlights instead, they're really fashionable right now.
Why don't you go with reddish highlights instead? I wouldn't say blonde would be odd, but i think reddish would be a little more natural looking.
you should do the rainbow afect... which is blonde streaks and red streaks and blue streaks runing through your hair... I had a friend who did that ans she was so hot! but it's your choice.
i would do a bright color like blue or red i think blonde would look kinda weird, my friend did the same thing and now she h8s it.

I would go for light brown ones too. Blonde ones will look pretty odd.
