Highlighted hair?

I want to go back to my natural hair colour which is light brown. When i last went to hairdresser for highlights she said that to go back to my natural colour they would have to put a red through my hair first as my hair has a lot of red in it and then put the brown on top of that?

Does this make sense to anyone as i am confused and want to avoid red brassy tones that i have had beforeHighlighted hair?
Yeah thats correct brown hair often has red init but u cnt always see. Always trust the hairdresser they usually know what there talking bout and if it did go wrong u can complain.

You shouldent get brassy red tones if it is done correctly. It should look how it did before.

the red is a base before the actaul brown colour goes on good luck! xHighlighted hair?
They often do that to stop the brown hair having a ';green tone'; .... you could have ';low lights'; (in your natural colour)added to your hair until the highlights have grown out or have your hair chemically striped to remove the colour. I had my hair stripped about 5 years ago, i think it cost about 拢80.

Have fun!
wivout seeing your hair i cant say.

but get more than one hairdressers opinion on it go to a couple of salons for consultations. if they all say the same thing then it would be right to do it that way.
Well, its all in the matter of what you like and if it will work. Go back the hairdresser and ask them exactly what she is going to do to you and when. If you don't like what she's saying, try another one. Then try another one. If they all say the same thing, then it has to be done. But try what you think will look best. Chances are different salons have different methods.
this is true because if you put brown on top of blonde it goes a shade of greenish
