okayyy i bought the chocolate macaroon couleur experte kit ( http://www.walgreens.com/store/product.j鈥?/a> ) .
i am a natural dark dark brown almost like black and i dyed it dark brown like 3 months ago .
when i dye my hair using that kit ( above ) , will my hair be medium brown ? or will it stay the same ?
if it happens to still be darker than medium brown , what color will the highlights be ?
because i know if my hair is medium brown , the highlights will be golden .Dying and highlighting hair?
The highlights will be slightly lighter. They will just make it look more natural. I would suggest though, to go to a professional if you want it to look good. (Better) Thats what I did only because a) the color stuff is better. Higher quality. b) You can get EXACTLY what you want. And be sure you get it. =) Though its more expensive, its better. Much better.Dying and highlighting hair?
I goto beauty school and they tell us over and over that color over color will result in a darker color. So i would go with using a shade above that one. If thats that kind where you do the highlights your self then they will be as light or dark depending on how long you leave the bleach on your hair.
I say if you'd like even higlights, it would be best to ask a professional hairstylist to do it. They would know which colors to combine and which color will give the best results for your hair type and color.
If you're not that good at combining colors and you just rely on the directions at the product label, chances are you won't get the desired color.
Your hair will most likely be a dark brown. The dye may lift your shade ever so slightly, but it likely won't be much.
Your highlights sound as though they will come out a caramel colour.
I have used that kit in the past, (A different shade). A little advice, use care placing your highlights. It is really easy to get your highlights too close together and use too much highlight solution and end up with the highlights bleeding together at the root, causing light-coloured globs at your hair part. Start out with just a few, well spaced, then work up to more as you colour again.
I am a hairdresser. Tint(dye) will not lighten hair that has been tinted. Bleach must be used. I am not familiar with the kit you got. I recommend that you go to a salon. This can be tricky, off tones may arise(orange) and then it will be a corrective color that will cost a lot more to have done. This could look very ugly if not careful.
